Isle of Wight Council Urge Residents to Recycle their Food Waste

The Isle of Wight Council has joined forces with a Amey to encourage people to make good use of their food recycling.  Figures now show that UK households throw 7.3 million tonnes of food every year.  The council say that they think residents don't realise how much of a difference they can make by recycling their food waste.

Recycling Trolleys Replace Blue Bins in Ayrshire

Residents in Ayrshire are going to be having their recycling binds replaced by a trolley which consists of stacked black boxes that are specifically designed to collect paper, card, plastic, cans and mixed glass.  The introduction of these trolleys is set to bring in a new weekly recycling collection in aid to stop things from entering landfill.

Carlisle Council Improved Recycling Service

Carlisle Council are set to launch their imprioved recycling service this summer, this includes the kerbside collection being extended to more residents, a new collection schedule which means their rubbish is collected on the same day each week to help with confusion.

Colchester Council is set to Expand Food Waste Recycling Scheme

Food waste handling and disposal has been made more streamlined and environment-friendly by the Colchester community in Essex. The community authorities have successfully tested a food waste recycling scheme with a handful of homeowners on a trial basis. The councillor of the borough shared encouraging results of the trial run.
