Get Half-Price Entry to Theme Parks by Recycling Your Plastic Bottles

Some of the UK's biggest theme parks are offering visitors a great incentive to their visitors to recycle their plastic bottles, customers will see a half price discount when they recycle a 500 ml plastic bottle.  Merlin Entertainments, the owner of the attractions has joined forces with Coca Cola to offer customers better incentives for recycling.

Morrisons to Replace Plastic Bags with Paper for Fresh Produce

Morrisons have started selling their fresh product in brown paper bags instead of the traditional plastic ones, the 4th largest supermarket estimates the switch would result in 150 million fewer paper bags each year.  The supermarket also encourages customers to bring their own containers in and they will get extra loyalty points if they do.

Calls for a New Approach to Packaging

Recycling the waste at its source is one of the viable options being put forward to combatting UK's litter problem, Axion has launched a design for recycling service which aims to produce packaging that is easier to recycle but still being able to protect the products.  The UK exported 70% of its plastic packaging waste mainly to the far east and with China issuing a ban other options are going to have to be considered.
