The Real Junk Food Project is a group of organisations working together to tackle the problem of food waste, REfUSE is the County Durham branch of the product, and they run pop up restaurants on the last weekend of each month in cafes across the city to turn food being thrown away into healthy and satisfying meals.
Upcycling is like recyclyling, but instead of sending to the recycle plant you basically restore the item for use again. Our new series looks at projects anyone could do, with this 1 restoring an old stool. Whether it just needs a lick of paint or a reupholster job, you can make an old stool look brand new.
Issue 2 of our upcycling ideas looks at how to save glass jars to create soap dispensers, glass is 100% recyclable without having the loss of quality, so why not use them around the house for creating something quirky.
