Tesco have started to trial the reverse vending machines in some of their stores to encourage their customers to recycle plastic bottles. The first machine went operational last month and gives customers 10p for every bottle they deposit in one go.
Iceland has become the first supermarket to install a reverse vending machine to help tackle the problem of plastic pollution. The trial is taking place in Fulham and customers will be able to recycle plastics drinks bottles in reward for 10p voucher to spend in store.
